The St. John Fragment or Papyrus 52 is a piece from a Papyrus Codex and is the Oldest Fragment from the New Testament Known to Survive. It measures only 3.5 by 2.5 inches (8.9 by 6 cm) at its widest Point and contains parts from the Gospel of John in Greek, on both sides. It was among a group of Papyri acquired on the Egyptian market at Oxyrhynchus in 1920 by Bernard Grenfell. The Original Transcription and Translation of the Fragment of text was not done until 1934, by Colin H. Roberts. The First Editor dated the Fragment to the first half of the Second Century (between 100-150 AD). Recent Research points to a date nearer to 200 AD, but there is as yet No Convincing Evidence that any Earlier Fragments from the New Testament Survive. What you actually get is Two Pieces of Papyrus with each containing one of the Two Sides of the Original Document. There is nothing on the backside. Our St. John Gospel Papyrus is a Larger Scale and measures: 3.75 Inches wide x 5 inches high. It is cut out to the Exact Image of the Original Codex as seen in pictures.
The Pauline Epistle or Papyrus 46, Contains: 2 Corinthians 11:33 - 12:9 and is a Replica of the original Fragment which was part of a Folio from Papyrus 46, which is an early Greek New Testament manuscript written on papyrus, and is one of the manuscripts comprising the Chester Beatty Papyri. The original has been paleographically dated between 175 and 225, or early 3rd century CE. It contains verses from the Pauline Epistles of Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians, 1 Thessalonians, and Hebrews. The codex is made from papyrus in single quire, with the folio size approximately 28 by 16 centimeters (11.0 in × 6.3 in). The text is written in single column, with the text-block averaging 11.5 centimeters (4.5 in), between 26 and 32 lines of text per page, although both the width of the rows and the number of rows per page increase progressively. Our Fragment is a smaller scale and measures: 4 Inches wide x 6 inches high. It is cut out to the exact image of the original codex as seen in pictures.
The Book of Revelations or Papyrus 47, also known as P. Chester Beatty III, is an early Greek New Testament manuscript written on papyrus, and is one of the manuscripts comprising the Chester Beatty Papyri. It is designated by the siglum P47 in the Gregory-Aland numbering of New Testament manuscripts. Manuscripts among the Chester Beatty Papyri have had several places of discovery associated with them, the most likely being the Faiyum. Using the study of comparative writing styles (palaeography), it has been dated to the early 3rd century CE. The manuscript contains text from the Book of Revelation chapters 9 through 17. It is currently housed at the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin. The manuscript is a codex (precursor to the modern book format), written with black ink on papyrus. The manuscript is quite fragmented, containing the text of Revelation 9:10-11:3; 11:5-16:15; and 16:17-17:2. The extant part of the manuscript comprises 10 leaves arranged as a single quire. The original size of the pages was 24x14cm (9.45 x 5.5 inch), with around 23-30 lines each page The writing column was quite small, comprising 19x10cm, with 1-4 lines lost at the top of each page. Due to the first five leaves facing back to front (also known as verso to recto), and the last five leaves facing front to back (recto to verso), this is evidence the extant leaves are from the middle portion, and likely that only the book of Revelation was included in the manuscript. It is calculated that the manuscript likely had 30-32 leaves in total to house the text. Our Fragment is a smaller scale and measures: 4.25 Inches wide x 6 inches high. It is cut out to the exact image of the original codex as seen in pictures.
